The troop headed off to Switzerland for a 10 day adventure. Rather than say any more about it here, just watch this video to see what it was all about – make sure you have sound!
Scout trip to Brecon Beacons
Watch this video and count the number of times “woooh”, “wow”, “this is fun”, “great fun” is said – and that’s only from 1.5 minutes of footage! Turn your sound up!
Scouts Win Raft Race!
Congratulations to the six scouts who built and raced a raft to victory in Southampton’s annual district raft race competition.

Some of the older scouts went to Wye Valley for the district camp – it was a fantastic weekend with lots of activities. Check out the video to see what we got up to:
Cubs @ District Events Spring 2013
District Chess
HUGE congratulations to our two cubs who both came runners up in the district chess competition!! They both did fantastically.
District Football
Congratulations to all of the Cubs who played in the Cub football! The effort, enthusiasm and team-work shown by the Cubs were brilliant, and they were an absolute credit to themselves, and to the group.
The rock-solid defence and outstanding goalkeeping from meant that we only conceded 2 goals throughout the whole tournament. In the final, we met the fist team that we had played against, and it went right down to the wire in extra time. We were pleased to become runners up
District Cross Country
Ccongratulations to our cubs for their fantastic running in the district cross-country event.
In the over 9.5 age event, we came 1st and very close behind in 3rd. In the under 9.5 age event we came through in 2nd place.
This was a fantastic effort given the freezing weather and the tough terrain the Cubs were running on. Very well done to all of them!
Pinewood Derby 2012
Thank you to all who joined us for another hugely successful Pinewood Derby – it was enjoyed by all.
Gala Glory!
On a fantastic night for the Highfield Scout Group, our Beaver Scout Team mounted their strongest challenge in the history of the Southampton City Swimming competition, with 7 determined and enthusiastic swimmers and with a Highfield Beaver finishing in First and Third place in the Final.
The Cub Scout team, narrowly beaten last year, stormed back to win the Trophy in 2012, taking 1st place in the over 9.5 freestyle race, 1st and 2nd place in the Breaststroke, 1st and 2nd place in the Backstroke and winning the over 9.5 relay by almost a length of the Quays swimming pool.
Many congratulations to all our swimmers and thank you to our friends and families for their enthusiastic and energising support 🙂
Swimming Gala presentation photos are here.
A Shoebox of Goodies!
The Beavers enjoyed wrapping up the shoe boxes and filling them with goodies. (The contents of the shoeboxes were donated by the parents.)
Some of the children had raised money by gaining sponsorship for completing the Great South run. £10 was donated online and an additional £35.50 was sent off to The Samaritians Purse, Christmas Appeal.
