10 months in the life of a 14th Scout in 3 mins

I can’t believe how much fun we’ve had this year – we started the year sleeping in caves 100m underground and finished the year 1000m up in Snowdonia, and have done a LOT in between!

Massive thanks to:
* the scouts for being great fun and having a brilliant scouting attitude
* the parents for supporting everything we do
* the leaders for making everything possible
* the exec committee for the behind-the-scenes work in keeping our group fantastic!

Survival Camp

The scout troop spent a weekend surviving off the land – making fires, skinning rabbits, carving spoons, cooking without utensils, sleeping in shelters, making nettle tea & nettle string – and more.

Very impressively every single scout got 100% involved with skinning the rabbits, and sleeping in shelters, despite being somewhat out of anyone’s comfort zone.

Warning – these photos contain photos of scouts learning to skin rabbits.

Scout Peak Climbing Camp

We took the scouts for a weekend of climbing and abseiling in the Peak District.  Despite a shocking weather forecast, we managed to have two days of climbing in the sunshine, and headed home on Sunday five minutes before it rained – perfect!

11th Nov: Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is back for another year of fun – it is our only group event in the year, so please come an support it. It has always been a fantastic event – racing cars, BBQ, bouncy castle, raffles, tombola, games and most importantly, lots of prizes!

Cars are available from the leaders for £6 at the end of the evening meetings – we’ve got limited stock (flown in from America!) so once they’ve gone, they’ve gone!
