A group of Cubs and Scouts led by Ian Bailey, the Hawthorns Education Officer, spent half term Friday morning hard at work on the Common. Our job was to clear an area that had been invaded by Willows and to reestablish the original, more open, habitat.
The area was cleared, the weather was great, we learnt a bit about conservation, we got very muddy and we enjoyed ourselves!
