Centenary Celebrations!

The 14th Highfield Cub Scout Group is celebrating its centenary. Although Cub Scouting officially launched in 1916, records along with an original flag show that the 14th Highfield Wolf Cub Pack was formed as an experimental section two years earlier, on 30th January 1914.

In order to help mark the centenary, we will be compiling a book of memories from past and present cubs along with items to be place in a time capsule to be buried on the 6th July. We ask the wider community to share any memories or experiences that they have had as a part of the 14th by visiting the ‘Cubs – Centenary celebrations’ tab.

Cubs @ District Events Spring 2013

District Chess

HUGE congratulations to our two cubs who both came runners up in the district chess competition!! They both did fantastically.

District Football

Congratulations to all of the Cubs who played in the Cub football! The effort, enthusiasm and team-work shown by the Cubs were brilliant, and they were an absolute credit to themselves, and to the group.

The rock-solid defence and outstanding goalkeeping from meant that we only conceded 2 goals throughout the whole tournament. In the final, we met the fist team that we had played against, and it went right down to the wire in extra time. We were pleased to become runners up

District Cross Country

Ccongratulations to our cubs for their fantastic running in the district cross-country event.

In the over 9.5 age event, we came 1st and very close behind in 3rd. In the under 9.5 age event we came through in 2nd place.

This was a fantastic effort given the freezing weather and the tough terrain the Cubs were running on. Very well done to all of them!
