Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from all over Southampton came together to compete in the first District Swimming Gala in several years on Saturday 24th November at the Quays Swimming Pool.

The whole evening was terrific fun with every Beaver, Cub and Scout being cheered home and a lot of smiles and laughter as well as some very impressive swimming. Our Scouts were outstanding, bringing home both the under 12 Scout Trophy and the overall Scout Section Trophy.

Highlights for the 14th included a titanic dual between CE and a very tall scout from another Troop in the over 12s freestyle, a blistering performance by TE and PE, HW and JY in the under 12s relay, which they won by a length, and double podium finishes for our under 12s in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.

It is great to have this trophy back at the 14th HQ since we were the first group to win this swimming gala trophy back in 1931 and also in 1932!
